Step 1: Find a free skill

Step 2: Download the skill folder

Step 3: Add it to your Claude Skills directory

Step 4: Invoke the skill

Step 5: Confirm it worked
A correctly running skill will follow the structured workflow described in its SKILL.md — asking for specific inputs, then returning output in the defined format with a quality checklist. If Claude responds generically instead, the skill likely was not detected.

If Claude does not recognize the skill, double-check the folder is in the correct Skills directory and that the SKILL.md file was not renamed or moved out of its folder during download.
